Statement of Faith

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, to be the inspired and only infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Cross

We believe that the cross of Christ is the wisdom of God and the power of God to those who are being saved.

The Judgement

We believe in the final judgement of the world. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.

Eternal Salvation

We believe that repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus God and His shed blood is the only means of being cleansed from sin and pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight. We believe that a new birth by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. We believe in water baptism by immersion.

Divine Healing

The redemptive works of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to prevailing prayer.

Reconciliation

We believe that every Christian is an ambassador for Christ and has been given the ministry of reconciliation, to plead with all people to be reconciled to God.

Sanctification

We believe in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to sanctify the Christians and enable them to live a holy life. This requires the cooperation of the believer to yield to the Spirit and Word of God.

The Blessed Hope

We believe in the blessed hope, the rapture of the Church at the coming (parousia) of the Lord.

There Is One God

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His substitutionary and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal, future return to this earth in power and glory to rule over the nations of this world. We beleive that there si no other name by which men can be saved.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who seek it.

The Great Commandments

We believe that every Christian should be occupied with loving the Lord Our God with all of our heart, all of our soul and all of our strength. We believe that as we fulfill this first great commandment, the natural outflow will be evidenced in our love for our neighbour.

The Ministry

We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and in the present operation of the manifold gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

The Ordinances

We believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of the Lord’s supper until His return.

Mankind

We believe in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity and priesthood of all believers in Christ and these comprise the universal Church, the body of Christ.

The Saviour

We believe in the true and proper deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church.

The Commission

We believe the gospel embraces the need of the whole man and the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the gospel to the world and to fulfill a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

The Coming King

We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised to be endued with power through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this enduement the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Chruch, its worship, evangelism and service.

The Trinity

We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

The Future State

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.

Salvation

We believe in the necessity of salvation for mankind. We beleive in the necessity of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight. This righteousness is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.
